Mid America Printmaking Council 2018 Conference, October 3-6

thumbnail_Logo-250x250.jpgThe Mid America Printmaking Council 2018 conference is coming west.  The biennial national conference will be hosted by the University of Wyoming Department of Art and Art History October 3 – 6.  The conference includes exhibitions, panel discussions, demonstrations, interaction with vendors and professional contact with artists and scholars.

Carla McGrath and Cole Rogers, co-founders of Highpoint Press, will be recognized as this the 2018 “Outstanding Printmakers” and will provide the keynote address on Oct. 4th.  Wyoming writer, Samuel Western, will provide the keynote address on Oct. 5th.  The University of Wyoming Art Museum will host several exhibitions including works from Highpoint Press, an exhibition or artist’s prints from contemporary Native American artists and Japanese relief prints from the collection.  Exhibitions in conjunction with the conference will also be hosted throughout downtown Laramie and in the Visual Art Building.
